Traffic Will Make or Break Your Bank
No matter which formula you use for making money online,
No matter who you pick to show you how to make money online,
No matter what product or service you choose to market online,
In the end, you still need one thing to succeed.
The Target Visitor Who Will PAY You
There are two kinds of target visitors.
- The target visitor who will pay you one time only.
- The target visitor who will pay you more than once.
These are the people who want your solution to their problem. These are the people with the money in their pocket ready to pay you.
More specifically, these are the people who know how to go online, enter in their problems in their favorite search engine, and either
- Click on the first result they see or
- Scan the first 10 to 20 results.
This is why every website is competing against each other. These are your competition. Your target visitor is not going to spend time looking beyond the first few pages of results that come up in their favorite search engine.
Massive Traffic is the Key
Find your target visitor by subtraction. Massive traffic will bring attention to your site.
However, the key to continuing success beyond the first traffic is returning visitors. To help you visualize how much traffic you will need to generate returning visitors, I have created a simple chart below.
- The first column represents how many visitors per month.
- The following columns represents how many visitors you will get each month if you convert them into returning visitors.
| # of Visitors | 1% | 2% | 3% | 4% | 5% |
| 1,000 | 10 | 20 | 30 | 40 | 50 |
| 5,000 | 50 | 100 | 150 | 200 | 250 |
| 10,000 | 100 | 200 | 300 | 400 | 500 |
| 50,000 | 500 | 1,000 | 1,500 | 2,000 | 2,500 |
| 100,000 | 1,000 | 2,000 | 3,000 | 4,000 | 5,000 |
| 500,000 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 15,000 | 20,000 | 25,000 |
| 1,000,000 | 10,000 | 20,000 | 30,000 | 40,000 | 50,000 |
| 5,000,000 | 50,000 | 100,000 | 150,000 | 200,000 | 250,000 |
These numbers should give you a better idea of the amount of traffic you need to generate to find your target visitor who can be converted into a one time buyer or a returning buyer.
Add the Money
Look at it another way, add a $ next to each number and you will know how much you can earn if your buyers paid you $1. Now think about Amazon and eBay, or better yet, here’s an embedded graph from Compete to help you visualize the last 6 month’s traffic.
Even at 1 cent per visitor, for every 10 million visitors, these sites would generate at least $100,000 a month. And you can bet they earn more than just 1 cent per visitor. Now, that’s what I call making money online.
For Those Who are Just Starting Out
If you hit the magic one million visitors per month within 90 days, contact me. I want in on your formula.
Do not be discouraged by these numbers, in fact, take the opposite approach. Use these numbers to fuel your desire. In fact, when I created my first project for this website, Project High Speed, I had a goal in mind, to drive 3,000 people to my website.
Now that I can see these numbers, I realized 3,000 was not enough if I want my visitors to return. That’s when I knew I needed to raise the bar. This is a very competitive niche, how to make money online. I am going up against some of the best in the business (those who have succeeded in sticking around a while), and thousands of others beginners like myself.
For Those Who Have Been Around
If you have been around a while, then you are either successful or still struggling to reach that “magic” number. Either way, if you want to take it to the next level, you need to do the math.
Do Some Math for Yourself
- Decide how many visitors you want per month
- Decide how many visitors you want to return each month
Your returning visitors are important because they will cushion the bottom line for your business. You hear about this all the time in the news, “so and so business has a customer retention rate of 84%” or something like that. That is what the real world is about and that is what you need to apply to your website.
If you intend to make money online, aim high.
But first, figure out how many visitors you will need to succeed each month.
Don’t worry, this lesson is free.
