Awesome at First Glance : Link Popularity Tool

I am focused this month on building traffic to this website through several methods.

One of these methods is building backlinks, links that points back to your website from other websites.

While searching the Warrior Forum, I found a thread that directed me to this terrific link checking tool.

First Results

First Results

I typed two sites that I know of which are both under 1 year old.

The first time, I entered them directly from their website, SEOCentro.

The second time, I entered these sites from my post to see if it was working.

I have posted thumbnails of the results here on the right.

You can click on any of them and scroll through the series.

You can view the screenshot in full by clicking on the thumbnails. I want you to notice the results for yourself.

You can see why now I said “Awesome at First Glance”.

As you can see, in the first result, My Bridal Makeup Artist had more links than iFormulaSuccess. 12 more, in fact, that is, according to the first result.

Then when I tested it again for the second time, the results changed.

iFormulaSuccess now had 304 more backlinks than My Bridal Makeup Artist which fell from 70 links to 3 links.

What happened?

That’s when I went to Yahoo’s Site Explorer to find out the truth.

As it turns out, Yahoo was dead on with the number of inbound links, 103.
However, My Bridal Makeup Artist was off the mark with 23 inbound links.

The Lesson?

It pays to double check from more than one source. While Google does have a way to check links, it is a known fact that Google will only display a small percentage of your backlinks.

I will have to do further research into this because this is certainly a powerful tool to have.

I welcome your thoughts and comments here on this tool.   Feel free to try it out at Link Popularity Tool.
